PROJECTS, SYSTEMS & PROCEDURES
The foundation of any project carried must be a proven system of controls and procedures in order to ensure success repeatability, fully mitigated project risk and full objectivity in measurement and performance against cost, scope, schedule, quality and Safety imperatives and the strict demands of the global oil and gas and marine industries.
To this end, Mcray Victus Nigeria Limited employs a Project Execution Methodology system based on numerous gated release criteria. These "gates" need to be fully complied with prior to proceeding through to the next project phase or corrective action plans need to be implemented and appropriately managed to ensure shortfalls do not compromise project success. The gates are regularly reviewed and “sign off” required at a senior level within the organization, often includes client involvement.
The system helps to manage and guide the project through all phases from project tendering through Concept Exploration, System Definition and subsequent Feasibility Study completion and then onto Detailed Engineering, Equipment Procurement and Fabrication, Project Assembly and Final Project Commissioning and Handover.
We have found such a system aligns closely with those systems employed by large companies such as Shell, BP, Dow and the like. In all cases, the systems utilized facilitates and encourages full client and project team alignment and common charter development, comprehensive review of information, peer assist sessions including lessons learnt from both client and in-house project and operational databases, compilation of trade-off requirements, appropriate cascade partnering with key vendors, the initiation of test working exercises, regular value-engineering and innovation sessions and an overall culture of striving for excellence in all areas.
